Well, I think that spring is getting closer, we have tiny flowers starting to pop up. These are the same ones I planted last fall and blogged about :) Brigham is now 6 months old and almost crawling. We have a lot of fun with him. Here he is riding around in his new trailer that I pull behind my bike. When we need to get out of the house, we just load up and ride downtown or wherever. It even has a small compartment in the back where I can stuff the diaper bag or put groceries.

Here's just one of him looking cute:Much has happened since I last blogged. Let's see....we got a new couch that takes up a whole room. So, we needed to rearrange our house to make it fit, get rid of old couches, sell some more junk, and then move around a few rooms to make it all work. Our house looked like a hurricane went through it, but it's finally organized. And we really enjoy actually having a living room where we can have people over and they have a place to sit!
I started a business, Brook Creek Gardens. (My little summer job) I plan on selling produce at the Farmer's Market downtown Lawrence. It should be quite an experience. I've submitted my vendor application, and now just waiting to see if I get a stall. So, if you're in town or just needing some fresh veggies, come see me and I'll hook you up! Or you can show your support by "Like"-ing my page on Facebook, I would really appreciate that!
I turned 25 on Tuesday. I'm officially old. Ted suprised me with an awesome ice cream birthday cake that he made himself. I was impressed! He also got me some new books that I'm looking forward to reading, along with some gardening mag subscriptions:)
We are trying to think of what to have for supper...Ted suggested Chicken Alfredo Pasta.
What are you making for supper tonight??

First solid food

So almost 5 months old, and we wanted to see if Brigham was ready to try out some real food. Here he is eating very thin rice cereal. He still has a little bit of that tounge-thrust reflex, so most of what goes in usually comes back out. Since then, we have tried making it thicker and he seems to keep it in his mouth easier. Another food we've tried is bananas. He actually opened up his mouth for the next spoonful, so I think he like them alot. I'm going to try avacados next:)

Christmas Break

Well, Christmas has been over for a couple weeks now, and I am just getting around to blogging. We spent Christmas day and the rest of that week in Redlands, CA with Ted's family. It was nice to get some sun and wear shorts again! We did quite a few things while we were there: We attempted to go to the hot springs like we do every year. Only this time, the rain prevented us from using the road and it seemed to be too muddy to drive down there, so instead we went to a ghost town called Calico. It had been an old mining town and people had built houses in the side of the mountain using rocks.
Another day, we climbed to the top of Forest Falls and saw the waterfall. I unfortunatly "forgot" my swimsuit, so I didn't go in. However, the rest of the gang jumped in the freezing water, and I took pictures of them screaming in pain. I like hiking up there because the mountain air smells so good. And the mist from the waterfall is always refreshing.
We didn't get around to going to the beach like we planned, but we did have a party for Brigham were everyone came and got to meet the little guy for the first time.
And the last thing we did while we were there was go to Joshua Tree National Park. We spent an entire day climbing around on boulders. The landscape is really something...it was amazing to see such huge rocks balancing the way that they did. While we were out there, we also found "The Queen of the Desert" an old mine. All of the entrances were welded shut with bars, but we found one that someone had cut with a saw. So, being us, of course we went in. Using just the light from our camera, we scooted our way down the tunnel. After coming to a fork in the road, we decided we better head back so we wouldn't get lost. Ted picked up a piece of quartz and took it home with us to see if he could find any gold inside. No luck so far...
We got home safe, and Brigham did well on the plane. The next day we headed up to my parents' and had another Christmas with my family! And then another one that same afternoon at Grandma Adam's. It was so good to see everybody! We're about to head out the door to go up that way again this weekend. Ted, Jared, and Dad are planning on coyote hunting. And me and Mom are going to start cleaning out the attic...yes mom I know you want to help too:D

I gave Brigham a rattle to hold and he played with it for a good 10 minutes. It was so sweet:) He's 3 1/2 months now. Over the last week, he has done a lot of new things: Rolled from tummy to back all by himself, laughed out loud (a real laugh this time, not just high pitch squealing/"haaauuh" like he usually does), and grabbing and holding more things with his hands. It's exciting to see him growing and figuring out how to do things!

It's Almost Winter

Over the weekend, Ted and I went to The Legends Mall by Kansas City. Neither of us had ever been there, so we walked around and discovered some really neat stores/restaurants. The place above is called "T-Rex." It has all sorts of dinos and other prehistoric animals covering the walls and hanging from the ceiling. And they all move! Even the lady bugs and grasshoppers were fluttering their wings if you looked close enough. It was very cool. I want to come back some time when we have a group of people and we can all sit under the giant jellyfish booth that you can sort of see in the background of the picture.
We got our Christmas tree up and decorated this week! Milo's panther ornament was put on the tree by Milo himself. And Brigham's first ornament is a StarWars Rebel Snowspeeder (whatever that is, but Ted seems to know all about it and says Brigs will love it when he's older and can play with it) Our lights outside are up on the house, and we even decorated the new arch in the backyard. It's getting very festive around here. Just got some Celtic Christmas cd's in the mail today:) And if I don't get around to it tonight, tomorrow I'm going to bake SuGaR CoOkIeS!!

Morehice Meet-up

It's a new year, and I do feel refreshed and energized! I think that's partly due to this past week of reflection, rest...
